Christmas

Dear Family and Friends,
Another year has come and gone. Surprise, James is still kicken ass. After Thanksgiving, he spent a couple of days in Medical City for antibiotics and breathing treatments because he inhaled the juice of my Chocolate Covered Cherries. They were so not on his sugar free-low sodium-fat free diet. We were afraid that James would try to sleep through the holidays like last year, but Thank God he is back to normal, for him. James covered the walls of Michael’s bathroom in wood, put gray slate on the floor, and added skylights to brighten up her old cave. Now he is trying to persuade the ole commode to return to its throne. He is not a happy plumber…I’m staying out of his way by typing this note.
Michael escaped to Waldenbooks at Valley View Mall until 11:00 tonight: Too dark to be the plumber’s helper. She works there part time and makes just enough to pay for her cell phone bills. We used her 33% employee discount for lots of Christmas gifts, so Santa’s bringing books. Fall semester she attended Richland Community College here in Dallas and plans to register for a couple of classes next semester.
Although, Dallas Independent School District cut 500 positions, I still have my job teaching Special Education at Charles Gill Elementary as a Resource/Inclusive teacher. The frequent changes in programming keep me on my toes walking the road to “BROAD”. I really enjoy teaching the students and working with the staff at Gill, so I do not plan to retire for several years yet. After a week of partying in the Teachers Lounge, our Holiday break began on Friday, December 19. We do not return until January 5th. For Christmas, I bought tickets to go see Celene Deon’ on 1/5/09 at the American Airline Center in Dallas. From our seats she will appear about 1 inch tall, but what a voice.
Find something fun and exciting to do in 2009. Stay warm, healthy, and wealthy. Take care of yourself and those you love. Michael and I will try to do the same by eating all the candy, cookies, fruitcake, and plum pudding to protect James.
Love and Miss You’ens, Elizabeth, James, and Michael
